Do I need a marriage license first?
Yes — you must get your license from a TN County Clerk before we meet.Do you have some places to suggest for us to meet?

Nope. My understanding is that we must be in the physical presence of each other.Do we have to have vows or can you just sign the papers?
Again, my understanding, no I can't just scribble my name on your license. It can be a short 1 minute vow but to sign as the officiant, I have to officiate something and hear you say "I do", "You betcha" or something along those lines. I'm sure you can find someone to take your money & play in the legal gray zone - but not me.Witness?
